My say on this matter?
Vault isn't lying.

About a month ago I contacted vault, because of some logs on my apache server.

What this means is;
212.44.29.52 - IP address that made the connection. This IP address is within Jagex's office range that I have accumulated over time.
The 'referer' was "yasni.ca" which appears to be a "people searching page" for Canada. And as you can see, "&name=Patrick+Chaloupka"
So they were looking up Vault on this website.
Now, the page they found was the 'www.runebit.com' forum database that I hacked in april.

What they found?

epoch(unix time) converted to GMT: GMT: Tue, 04 Dec 2012 11:54:17 GMT
So this all happened around the beginning of December.



So yeah.
That's my view on this.

Vault isn't lying.
They really did go after him.
